When I went back to work I insisted on having more help around the house. As a result the children have their chores, Pat has his, and Maria picks up the slack. Thank Heaven for Maria! She comes every other Thursday and cleans the nooks and crannies of the house. She vacuums, dusts, cleans the floors and the bathrooms, and changes the sheets. The very best part is, she does laundry! Before she leaves, the sheets that she took off the beds are clean and folded, as are any clothes that are in the laundry room bags. You should see me on Wednesday nights, trying to get as many dirty clothes as I can into the laundry room! She cleaned out my linen closet before Christmas (an unexpected gift) and even left a gift! I tell her NOT to clean Samantha's room, and sometimes she listens. We have a bit of a language barrier as she speaks Portuguese; not even close to Spanish! In spite of this we have an understanding, and I get to come home every Thursday night to 3 floors of clean!
