Thanksgiving

I have a minute, and only a minute. My kids are actually occupied, Pat isn't home, and I can't fold more laundry 'til the dryer heats the wrinkles out of it (I don't iron). This is the last day of Thanksgiving vacation. We have had a really nice, quality-type break, and I'm not looking forward to getting on with life. We spent Thanksgiving Day at Sharon's. We were there for breakfast at 10, and didn't get home til around 8:30 that night. Friday I started my Christmas decorating, and we took the kids bowling. Saturday I spent the day with Sharon then left the kids with Pat while I went to get my nails done. We watched DaVinci Code Saturday night, at least until I was too sleepy to stay up any longer. Today Pat went to the 'Skins game (we won!), and I slept in. I got my house picked up and finished the decorating, then we ran errands. I played trains with Cam and did art projects with Sam, and when Pat gets home we're going to Foster's for dinner. Not anything too remarkable, right?

Right now I am overwhelmed with thankfulness. I am so blessed, by little things, not just the big ones (family, friends, health, happiness). This long weekend has made me especially thankful for:

having only 2 kids of my own, an amazing mother-in-law who I truly consider to be a friend, monkey bread, thanksgiving naps, "extras" on my ipod, my cell phone which allows me to be close to my best friend, even when she's so far away, pedicures, Dough Boy Christmas ornaments, DVD player in my van, fresh garland, being able to decorate for Christmas before the turkey from Thanksgiving even settles, the 'Skins winning, my dryer, gates to keep Julia away from my Christmas trees, diet Pepsi's (this is a big one for me. I've never been able to stand diet drinks before, but now I'd rather have that than a coke!) ankle boots and big shawls, a daughter with pierced ears, getting away from it all (trip to New Mexico next week with Tom, Mom and Dad. NO KIDS!), and a husband with a sense of humor (or should that read, "lazy"?) I thought it was very sweet of him to put the toilet paper away without my even asking...

Alright, that is a classic picture--I'm impressed that he actually took the paper out of the wrapper. Kevin hasn't figured that one out yet... maybe by the time I die he'll figure out how to put the roll on the holder?

Glad you had such a great weekend! Hugs.
