My mom sent me a Facebook message today telling me that "Grammy always said that how you spend New Year's Day will dictate how the rest of the year would go, so take a nap, laugh a lot, and know that we love you." This was especially special to me because I love it when my parents tell me that they love me, and that I dreamed about my grammy the night before. So, how did I spend my day? I slept til noon, reorganized my office,...and went to work.
Yes, I know, I work too much, but I had a good excuse: I got 2 new students the first day back after break, and I needed to find room for their desks. Besides. It felt right starting the year off with the new calendar in place, ready to go!!
